Where did we experience Jesus in our lives this week?

Jesus works in many mysterious ways, which are not always obvious and many times in ways we don't understand. My name is Jessica, Steve and Beth- Anne are my parents. The other night when we sat down to answer the question "Where did we experience Jesus in our Lives this week?" all three of us came up with different answers and we each wanted to share them. I experienced Jesus by meeting six new people. These six were from NET, National Evangelization Team. They go around the country preaching the word of God in the form of fun and exciting retreats. I went on the retreat with my class, the 8th graders at St. Elizabeth Seton. When we arrived the NET team members greeted us with such enthusiasm that I knew Jesus would be working in a strong atmosphere. Our team was living their faith.

I'm Beth-Anne and the other night at a work Christmas party, two very special people made the experience a memorable one. One with her courageousness and the other with his belief. These two people have impacted each other's lives and everyone else around them. Nancy is a young vibrant woman with two children who has been put into a situation where cancer has taken over her life. She has just had an operation where there were too many tumors to remove so they immediately ended the operation and put her on chemotherapy. She was released from the hospital on Wednesday and too sick she felt, to attend the party in two days. On that Friday she woke up feeling good and came to the party. The atmosphere upon her arrival was phenomenal, but no one was impacted more than her boss, Shane. He stood up to say a few words to announce his engagement and to express his appreciation to Nancy for all her work and showing him that by her courage that Jesus is in us all. His and her belief has strengthened them both in every part of their lives.

I'm Steve and our everyday experiences contain so many moments that are special whether they are obvious or not so obvious. We see Jesus at work in others as we convey our message about ourselves in ways we may not realize. Our little brother Nate was never exposed to Jesus when he was young, yet sitting at the dinner table the other evening we all prayed our dinner prayer together, it was a special way in which I saw Jesus at work in Nate and all of us, by being able to share this moment together was heartwarming. So it is not necessarily the momentous occasion in which people find Jesus, it's the everyday ways in which we live our lives and the ways we interact with each other.

As you can see everyone's lives are unique and they experience Jesus in different ways, we must keep our minds and hearts open to many various experiences and people to enjoy the love of Jesus.
